Each disclosure has a summary: the prose that carries the disclosure in the published report, where a reader wants a continuous text rather than a list of answered fields. Generate Summary, next to that field in the disclosure's overview panel, writes a first version of it for you.

What it uses

Only what is already in the disclosure: its title and description from the standard, and the values you have filled in on its data points. It does not search your files, other reports or the web.

That means the summary is only as complete as the disclosure is. Generate it when the disclosure is largely answered, not at the start.

Replacing or appending

If the field already has content, you are asked what to do:

• Replace: the generated summary takes over the field.
• Append: it is added after what is already there.
• Cancel: nothing happens.

The result is written into the field, where you can edit it like any other text.
